Coach’s Corner – Adriel is without a doubt one of the most interesting, diverse young men I have coached. He is the first person I have coached that hopes to pursue a music career upon graduation. He is the driving force (guitarist and songwriter) for the aspiring band “Dabbles in Bloom“. Adriel has a huge local following and whenever he plays the crowd typically overflows the venue. It is also entertaining to watch Adriel with guitar/piano perform his own music. In fact, Adriel’s music is the background in the Whitman team video that Robert Rye produced a few years ago.
Beneath Adriel’s unassuming personality beats the heart of a competitor. During his career at Whitman Adriel has posted singles wins over some of the top teams in the nation including Trinity, U Chicago, Depauw, Bowdoin and Cal Lutheran. When a big match is on the line Adriel always brings his best.
A scholar, musician, athlete, and all around great guy — Adriel is Whitman’s own renaissance man!
