During his time at Whitman, Phalkun rewrote the record books for number of matches won. He currently sits #1 on the all-time win list with 157 combined wins. Prior to Whitman, Phalkun was a stand-out at McKay High School in Salem, OR.

A bit of jokester on and off the court, Phalkun always made practices and travel …. interesting.

Phalkun was named a Singles All-American in 2007. He was also named to the NWC All-Conference team multiple times. In 2007 he was named NWC Player of the Year. In 2007 he achieved a high ranking of #4 in NCAA III singles.

Phalkun still plays competitive tennis and is one of the top ranked open players in the Pacific Northwest. He is currently the assistant tennis coach at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR
